Real Estate in Hopland
|
Highway 101 passes through the quaint town of Hopland, just over ten miles south of Ukiah, 45 miles north of Santa Rosa and 100 miles north of San Francisco. In town, about 800 people call Hopland home, including the Hopland Band of Pomo Indians who operate the Sho-Ka-Wa Casino and Bingo.
The Solar Living Institute, a non-profit organization which attracts 200,000 visitors annually sits at the south edge of town. The relatively short expanse of “town” creates a leisurely stroll in and out of galleries, shops and vintage buildings including the Mendocino Brewing Company, California’s first brewpub to open after Prohibition.
On the west side of the street, on a historic school site, sits the Brutocao Schoolhouse Plaza which houses the Mendocino Wine and Visitors Center and offers a first-hand glimpse into Hopland’s past, as well as fine dining, fine wines, and bocce courts.
While a few local wineries have tasting rooms are in town, Hopland starts the northward trek through Mendocino County’s wine country with a spate of wineries with tasting rooms along Hwy 101, including Milano Family Winery, Jaxon Keyes Winery, and Jericko Estate Winery.
Hopland real estate offers quiet country living, yet easy access to Lake County via Mt. Hopland to the east, Sonoma County to the south, and Ukiah to the north.
